Kenny Writer at a glance
Quick facts for authors, reviewers, and search — aligned with our FAQ and privacy pages.
- Price
- Free. No Kenny account, subscription, or in-app payment wall.
- Platforms
- Desktop apps for Windows, macOS, and Linux.
- Import / export
- TXT, Markdown, DOCX, EPUB, and PDF. Binder export can produce EPUB or PDF for a full manuscript.
- Where data lives
- Projects are folders on your computer. Kenny Writer does not host a cloud library for your manuscripts.
- Account
- None required to write, save, or export.
- Offline AI
- Optional local or on-machine endpoints (for example Ollama) can run without sending drafts to Kenny.
- Cloud AI
- If you configure a cloud provider with your own API key, only the prompts and context you send leave your device — under that provider’s terms, not a Kenny account.
- Without AI
- Writing, binder, timeline, and export work with no AI configured.
